2 December 2010Syntax highlighting and full HTML email support

We've now got a live release with full syntax highlighting (Version 4.6.2.0) for the Website Templates section and our current working release has full support now for HTML emails.
You can download email templates that you like from anywhere on the web and integrate them into your Boss.Console to be utilised with any of the automated email systems.
Upcoming features is a rework of the form manager area to include fully scriptable forms and some cool new additions to the Boss.API including notification of first ever login in the Account Object as well as "just logged in".

8 September 2010Introducing Boss Extensions

Just quietly we've been busy working on some rather significant pieces of code which do not fit the description in terms of stock standard Boss software because it's code that performs pretty dedicated and unique tasks which would only suit a very small number of clients.
So we've packaged together a number of these pieces of code and are releasing them as Boss Extensions which will be available to anyone running a Boss website.
On their release there will be three of them:
Boss Voucher - which is the old module but did not ever really fit the description of what our other modules were.
Boss Vault - store actual files (word doc's, mp3s, images etc.) securely on your website behind the Boss.Client permissions model
Boss Campaign Manager - brilliant if your running online advertising campaigns and want to track the effectiveness of those campaigns in real time now, post campaign you can measure the ongoing benefits that those campaigns introduced to your website.

16 June 2010Semi-Permanent 2010 (Look Mum, no flash)

We really enjoyed ourselves at Semi-Permanent 2009 last year and as such we've decided we just can't help ourselves - we have to get involved again this year - so we built their website for them. Designed by The Church - it was quite the site for technically what is basically a one page website - loads of javascript/ajax goodness and on demand loading of images, sortable speaker boxes (just drag em - it remembers for next time too!).
Anyway being that's what we like doing it we got it done just shy of 500 lines of javascript (not counting jquery library and associated plugins) and our own crossFade jQuery plugin got a major working over too.
Bla bla bla - that's enough technical stuff - we hope you like the site, we're really looking forward to going to Semi and meeting new designers who just want to design websites like they want them and make us get it to work (plus sort out everything else like hosting, domains, emails, backups, training support, upgrades etc with all the best providers and at no extra cost!).

We've made steps towards the having custom fields in the Boss.Client module. We're currently using it ourselves internally to test it and although there is still no Boss.Console interface for creating these fields we can set up some for anyone interested as we further develop it.

22 March 2010Oh beautiful spreadsheets

Our latest release is bubbling away and it's all about reporting. We have some beautiful spreadsheets on the boil which will tell you everything you need to know about the your best hour/day and month of sales along with some very pretty graphs and some raw data for your own processing. Hopefully some pictures to come if we can find some nice sanitized data for posting.

New features include:

1. Two new types of custom fields for Boss.Client; plain text fields or single select drop down boxes.
2. Redesigned client management page with better instant access to latest information
3. Databasing of custom form submissions with reporting facilities for those submissions
4. The "how did you hear about us" customisable drop down for new sign ups
5. Numerous content template upgrades

Coming up next is improvements to the product management workflows and heaps of new reporting features.

This is going to be a big year for us. We're quite beside ourselves with our plans for the year and can't wait to let you all know. Keep an eye on us for some big announcements mid March.
We've just released 4.5.1.0 which includes some fun new updates including:

• Ordering of images anywhere you can select images (finally)
• Started the custom fields section of the Boss.Client module bringing it closer to a full CRM by the day. These custom fields can be setup to be populated via custom forms on the front side.
• Implemented the "How did you hear about us" feature
